Self sufficiency

Recently I was putting away laundry and came downstairs to find this:And this:

Since it was lunchtime, I obviously had been slacking in my mommy duties and failed to provide food for my guys.

No worries!

They can fend for themselves and even select a variety of foods, if you can overlook the fact that they are in the wrong food category. It's good to know that they are self sufficient and don't need my assistance all of the time. You can see that the fruit basket was also within reach, but waffle cookies were much more tempting. I'm also glad to know that the sweet tooth gene lives on!Disclaimer: Please excuse the mess of our pantry. Since it is our only cabinet for food items, except for a very skinny cabinet that holds cans, teas, packets, etc.....it's always a work in progress! It doesn't help that I have many helpers that explore and reorganize it daily. Really....all I wanted for Christmas was a cabinet lock. Honestly. I am longing for the day when I have a locking walk-in pantry....and closets instead of wardrobes.

I'm glad the sweet tooth lives on! My kids are CONSTANTLY raiding my pantry -AAAGGGHHH! It makes me want to pull my hair out! Funny how as soon as you leave the room for more than thirty seconds, they are all over the junk food! :)

Pantries are supposed to be messy, don't worry about it! With so many kids, if you had a clean and neat one, I'd be concerned. lol

I love that you found a stool in front of it. hehe

Even after they just ate--they are raiding the pantry!

Rhea-you know, they wouldn't need a stool for the food that are supposed to eat on the bottom shelves. It's the candy and cookies that are placed on top shelves that makes it a necessity.

The pantry is also messy because I toss things inside when we get home from shopping...claiming that I will reorganize later. Sometimes it happens, or not.
